"This past weekend I attended the Mortar Board National Convention and I wanted to pass on some exciting news. 

Ohio State's chapter was awarded several awards for the previous year including: 

     * Two Project Excellence Awards - one for Pillow Fight and one for the Gil Cloyd Leadership Event
 
     *Golden Torch Award - given to chapters who have completed eligibility requirements for the Silver Torch Award and excelled in the areas of scholarship, leadership and service)
 
     *Ruth Weimer Mount Chapter Excellence Award Finalist  - exceptional chapters of Mortar  Board will be considered to receive this award, the highest possible  honor given in collegiate achievement.  Recipients are chosen based on chapter  operations, participation, selections, advising, visibility, communications and other qualifications.
 
Congratulations to the 2007-2008 Mortar Board class! To the 2008-2009 class...let's keep up the good work and aim to be the Ruth Weimer Mount Chapter Excellence Award Recipient next year!"
